What's the best that could happen?
How often have you asked yourself, or someone else, what's the worst that could happen? I love to have answers and feel stronger by having them. When considering what the worst is that could happen, if feel safe and prepared. I think there's a place for this kinda thinking, but I also think God's begging us to consider the opposite too!
Why do many of us find it easier to plan for the worst than dream or hope for the best?
When we partner with God, I think our thinking has to become like His in order for the partnership to truly work. If I put the car in reverse and slam on the pedal but God is trying to push the car forward, there's a good chance nothing will happen. But if I out the car in drive, we'll I think you get the drift.
It's time to flip the script and think like Him.
Thinking about the best and not the worst is not what everyone else does, but God doesn't do what everyone else does. Most things God does is not as the world wouldn't expect. Most things He does feels uncomfortable and sounds absurd. Most things He says challenges the norm, and yet everything He does prospers.
Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].
